Project Management

The demands on a facility's available resources have never been as great. Projects need to meet expected goals of budget, schedule and specifications. They also should be the least operationally disruptive to every day care.

Management of a project within a senior care facility is entirely about implementation. Whether it is a clinical, marketing, or development plan, if your people don't have the skillsets to do it well, then resources may be wasted, cost over-runs can occur, and timeframes aren't achieved.

This program is often a jump-start of our work on an actual project within your community or facility.  It gets managers up and running so that our work enables them to learn the skillsets that will serve beyond the immediate project we're assisting you with.

When this program is offered to multiple organizations by associations, attendees are asked to bring an actual project with them. At the end of the seminar, they will have created their project plans, fully implementable upon returning to your facility. They will also have learned to use five separate project management tools that help ensure their future project success.

Project Management©

  • Establish a measurable project objective;
  • Determine project parameters;
  • Break down the project into manageable and achievable subunits;
  • Create correct sequences of project subunits;
  • Select the team and designate responsibilities;
  • Predict obstacles and develop contingencies;
  • Implement the project plan;
  • Evaluate plan achievement; and,
  • Recognize the influence of team leader and member personality on project success (using a self-evaluatory tool).
